Tea Cakes

I was given this recipe for Old Fashions Tea Cakes some 33+ years ago, from my neighbors mom. She had MANY children, and this recipe makes MANY cookies. I usually roll out the dough for cut-out cookies to bake and frost. But for Valentines Day, I wanted something different.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Beat eggs, sugar & crisco well.
- 2
Add milk & vanilla.
- 3
Stir in flour. I found it easier to add 4 cups, so the dough won’t be so sticky.
- 4
Turn dough out on floured surface, knead until smooth. Cut into favorite cookie shapes.
- 5
Place on greased cookie sheets.
- 6
Bake at 350*, until golden brown around edges.
- 7
Cool 3 minutes on cookie sheet before transferring to cooling rack. Let cool completely before frosting/icing.
- 8
For the large cookie cakes. Grease and flour cake pan of choice. Smooth cookie dough into pan(s). Just enough dough to cover bottom of pan. Bake at 350* for 18-22 minutes or until cookie is a golden brown. Let cool 5 minutes in pan. Turn out on cooling rack to cool completely. Treat cookie gently while still warm because it will fall apart.
- 9
I melted some chocolate chips to decorate it. I prefer, decorators frosting, but my Valentine, does not. I baked a total of 1 large, 4 (8”), 2 (6”) cookies

Tea Cakes Tea Cakes
I received this recipe years ago from an elderly lady (98 years old) of 12 children. She had 4 sets of twins. She was a gentle soul and loved to cook and feed people. I met her at a birthday party for one of her great grands, we got to talking about baking and I told her about a cookie that my great granny used to make, but no one knew the recipe. A few days later, she sent her daughter to deliver THE COOKIE recipe, she called them TEA CAKES. This is my go-to recipe for rollout cookies. It makes ALOT! #ChristmasGift Sonya Bankester -

Black Tea Butter Cake with Lemon Icing Black Tea Butter Cake with Lemon Icing
I was selected as a tester for Aspartame sweetener, so I tried using it to make some sweets that I usually avoided due to the calories.I recommend using Earl Grey tea. Adjust the amount of water according to how rich you would like the lemon icing. If you let it sit overnight, it will become even more moist. You can also bake it in an 18-cm pound cake pan. Herbal Tea Pound Cake Herbal Tea Pound Cake
I had some sweet flavoured tea, so I added to a pound cake batter. It took on a wonderful fragrance and tasted delicious, so I uploaded the recipe. This time, I used blueberry flavoured tea. Other flavours are nice and fragrant too - try apple, strawberry, peach, or orange.Make sure you bring the egg to room temperature before using. If it's cold, it won't mix well with the butter and will separate. If you leave the pound cake to rest a few days, it will be even tastier. It will be particularly moist if you wrap it in plastic wrap and leave it for 2 - 3 days.If you don't have flavoured tea, use a little more sugar. Recipe by Puru berry cookpad.japan -

Royal Milk Tea Roll Cake Royal Milk Tea Roll Cake
I love sweet royal milk tea, milk tea that is made by brewing tea leaves in milk, so I made this roll cake using it.Make a stiff meringue, and don't be afraid to mix the meringue and egg yolk mixture really well. Doing so will give you a fine textured sponge cake .Please adjust the cooking time depending on your oven. Don't bake too much. It's so moist and fluffy because the sponge cake is made using a lot of milk!! Recipe by AAlly cookpad.japan
