Chop karela, and put some salt on it.mix well keep aside for 20 minutes.

Slice onion. Heat pan and adds oil. once hot add mustard seeds. add sliced onion. saute and add turmeric powder. Curry leaves

Add asafoetida. and squeeze water from the bitter gourd. Put it in a pan and mix well add red chilli powder,garam masala, and salt.

Now add tamarind pulp and jaggery.mix well. cook for 10 mins. Serve hot with chapati.
