Heat oil in a kadhai. Fry chopped potatoes and set aside.

To the remaining oil, add ponch phutan and allow to crackle. Add chopped onion, bay leaf and saute till onions are golden in colour.

Then add chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric powder and saute till tomatoes are softer.

Now, add onion masala paste, red chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder and one Tbsp water. Cook the whole masala on low heat till oil separates.

Add friend prawns and potatoes. Mix well with masala and cook on low flame till atomic. Add the required amount of water and bring to boil, covered for a minute. The Prawn Masala Curry is ready to savor with steamed rice.
