Kathal do Piyaja

Yet another jackfruit delicacy to beat the heat. This is fairly simple recipe, requiring very few regular ingredients, yet tastes great.
Pair with Rice/pakhala/roti/paratha, goes well with everything.

Steps
- 1
Boil jackfruit/kathal for 1 whistle with little water. If you get tender jackfruit, there is no need to boil. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, bayleaf, onion and keep cooking until onions turn translucent.
- 2
Now add the jackfruit(boiled/raw) and the dry masalas: coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric and salt. Cook covered in slow flame until jackfruit is cooked properly. Once you off the heat, add garam masala and serve.
