Assemble ingredients

Make a medium slurry of mustard powder and add little salt + 1/2 tsp Mustard Oil.

Grind soaked Yellow split Peas Dal by adding green chilli + ginger and keep aside. Use very less water while grinding. Add salt and whisk well. Batter for fritters is ready.

In moderately heated pan / kadhai add oil, allow to heat then add Nigella seeds and allow to sizzle. Add soaked Chana Dal and sauté for few seconds.
Add chopped Snake Gourd + green chilli and sauté. - 5
Sauté for 3-4 minutes by covering and snake gourd starts releasing water.

Now pinch small quantity from batter and drop on surface. (refer pic 👇)

Lower flame, cover and cook for 4-5 minutes, flip and steam the other side too.
Now add the mustard paste + water and mix gently. Add salt as required. - 8
Cook for 5-6 minutes under medium heat, keep in stand by mode for around 2 minutes and dish is done.

Serve with hot steamed rice to enjoy this delicacy.
