Wash 1 kg. Katla fish with haldi powder and salt. Twice or thrice. Drain the water. Transfer the fish to another bowl. Now marinate with haldi powder, salt and. Once it is done then keep aside. Now in slow flame lightly heat the banana leaves. While wrapping the leaf it will not break. Once it is done then keep aside. Mustard seeds, poppy seeds, green chillies and salt...

Grind it into fine paste. Now pour the Masala on a marinate fish. Add 2 tbsp mustard oil... Mix...it well...Once it is done keep aside. In a banana leaf spread the gravy evenly..

Then add fish one by one. Don't over crowd it. Otherwise it will break... In one banana leaf 4 small pieces...you can add it...Now over the fish add gravy. Sligtly cut the green Chillies. Put one - one green chillies on the top of the fish... Then slowly wrap the banana leaf and tied with thread properly. So while shallow fry the Masala will not comes out. Heat 1 tbsp mustard oil on a griddle. Place the paturi...

Cover and cook for 1 minutes. Or till fish is cooked well. When flavor or aroma will comes out. The leaf will be brown in color. It means paturi is ready... Switch off the flame.. Transfer the fish paturi on a plate.. Cool it... Take out the thread and slowly open the banana leaf. Check it...with fork...and taste it...If it is done..

Serve hot....Katla Macher Paturi...with hot...rice..in a lunch time...
