Ingredients

  • 1 poundgrape leaves
  • 2 cupsrice (about 400 grams)
  • 2 cupstomatoes, pureed (about 400 grams)
  • 1medium onion
  • 1 cupchopped fresh herbs (such as parsley, dill, and cilantro) (about 30 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/4 teaspoonblack pepper
  • 1 tablespoondried mint
  • 1 tablespoonoil

    Wash the grape leaves and boil them until tender and ready for stuffing.

  2. 2

    Prepare the filling by finely chopping the onion and sautéing it in the oil. Add the tomato puree.

  3. 3

    Let the mixture simmer, then add the spices and the washed, drained rice. Stir in the chopped herbs.

  4. 4

    Stuff the grape leaves with the filling and arrange them tightly in a pot until the pot is full.

  5. 5

    Add broth to cover the stuffed leaves, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until fully cooked.
