Chocolate and Orange Cake

You can also make this cake plain, without orange or chocolate. My mom has always made this recipe—it's simple and pretty quick to prepare. It makes a large batch, so you can halve the quantities if you like.

Combine the 2 cups of Greek yogurt in a large bowl.

Measure out 1 cup of sunflower oil (using the empty yogurt cup) and add it to the bowl.

Do the same with 2 cups of sugar and 3 cups of flour, measuring each with the empty yogurt cup.

Sprinkle the 2 packets of baking powder over the flour and mix it in well with your hand.

Add the 6 large eggs and the orange zest.

Beat the mixture well with a hand mixer.

Preheat the oven to 410°F (210°C) while you finish preparing the batter (about 15 minutes).

Fill a large mug with some of the batter and set it aside. (Don’t fill the mug all the way; leave a little space.)

Add the 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the mug and mix. Set this aside while you continue with the rest of the batter.

Pour a little sunflower oil onto the baking pan and spread it around with a paper towel.

Pour the plain batter into the pan, then add the chocolate batter in a cross shape in the center and a little in the corners. Swirl it slightly with a fork.

Bake at 410°F (210°C) for about 25 minutes, and it’s ready!
