Put the poppy seeds/ khus khus in a grinder with 2 green chillies and dry grind it.

Now add 2 tbsp water and grind it into a smooth paste.

Now dice the potatoes and keep aside.

Now heat mustard oil in a kadai and once it is hot add the panch foran.

Once the panch foran splutters, add the diced potatoes and cook for 2 minutes.

Now add the prepared poppy seeds/ khus khus paste and cook for 2 minutes.

Now add the turmeric,salt, 3 green chillies and 1/2 cup water.

Let it cook till all the water evaporates and the potatoes are soft and well coated with khus khus.

Remove from the stove and serve it with steamed white rice.
