Ingredients

  • For the Kofta
  • 1.1 lbsground beef (about 500 grams)
  • 1small tomato, diced
  • 1 bunchparsley, chopped
  • 1onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper
  • Large grape leaves (as needed)
  • For the Vegetables
  • 1potato, sliced into rounds
  • 1tomato, sliced into rounds
  • 1onion, sliced into rounds
  • 2green bell peppers, sliced into rounds
  • For the Cooking Sauce
  • 1/2 cupwater (120 ml)
  • 2 tablespoonspomegranate molasses
  • 1 tablespoontomato paste
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Mix the kofta ingredients and shape into patties.

    Stuff the grape leaves with the kofta mixture.

    Arrange in a baking dish, alternating with the sliced vegetables.

    Pour the sauce mixture over everything.

    Cover with foil (without touching the food) and bake in a preheated oven until the liquid is absorbed and everything is cooked, about 20 minutes. Uncover and broil until the top is golden brown.
