Pressure cook the dals, soaked overnight, with a pinch turmeric and 1onion upto 4 whistles, till that chana dal is pureed

Now heat butter, add cumin seeds, asofedita, chopped garlic, and onions, saute for 2 mts. Add tomatoes,spices and green chilli.

Add dal and water, and cook on low flame, mix well. Add garam masala and again cook for 5 mts. Add chopped coriander.

Serve with paratha or rice
