Ingredients

  • 3 cidli batter
  • 1/4 corange bell pepper. finely chopped
  • 1/4 cfinely chopped yellow bell pepper
  • 2 tbspcurry leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/2 conion, finely chopped
  • 1green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 tspginger, grated pinch asafetida
  • 2cloves, garlic grated
  • 2 tbspcilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 tspmasala powder
  • 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  • As neededsalt
  • As neededshredded cheese
  • As neededsesame seed oil, for shallow frying

    Make a checklist. Keep the necessary items nearby. Add the veggies and spice powders to the batter. Add salt to taste

    Keep the paniyaaram/kuzhi appam maker on low heat; add ½ tsp oil in each mold. Fill the mold ½ with batter. spray oil the top of the batter. Cook covered; simmer to low heat. cook for about 2-3 minutes

    Flip to cook the other side. Cook covered. Simmer to low heat, after 2 minutes, check with a stick. If it comes out clean, turn off the stove. Both sides should be golden brown.

    Sprinkle cheese on the top. Cover, continue cooking over simmering heat, about a minute. Lae it be on the stove for a couple of minutes. cheese melted. remove from the appam maker. You may transfer the cheesy appams to a serving plate and enjoy. Serve with chutney or ketchup
