Steps
- 1
Step 1: Prepare the Batter
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
In one bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add oil and vanilla essence, then mix well.
Slowly add milk and combine.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix gently with a whisk or spatula (don’t overmix).
Pour in hot water and lemon juice or vinegar, and mix until smooth.
- 2
Step 2: Bake the Cake
Grease an 8-inch cake tin and line it with butter paper.
Pour in the batter and bake for 35–40 minutes.
Check with a toothpick — if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

Step 3: Make the Chocolate Ganache
Heat cream in a pan (don’t boil).
Remove from heat, add chopped dark chocolate, and stir until melted.
Add butter for a glossy texture.
Let it cool slightly until it thickens.

Step 4: Decorate
Cut the cake into two layers.
Spread ganache between layers and on top.
Cover the cake with whipped cream and decorate with chocolate shavings, syrup, and sprinkles.
Add a “Happy Birthday” topper or candle.
Chill for 30 minutes before serving.

🍰 Result
A soft, rich, and moist Chocolate Birthday Cake with creamy frosting — just like a professional bakery cake. Perfect for birthdays and celebrations! 🎉
Tips
💡 Chef’s Tips
Use good-quality cocoa or dark chocolate for rich flavor.
Don’t overmix the batter — it makes the cake dense.
Add a bit of instant coffee to hot water for a deeper chocolate taste.
Always cool the cake before adding frosting.
