Homemade Cookies
A wonderful treat to give to someone special!

In a large, deep bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and unsalted butter at room temperature. Beat until creamy and the sugar is mostly dissolved.

Once creamed, add the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

Sift in the baking powder, flour, and a pinch of salt (optional: you can add 1 teaspoon baking soda if you like, but it's not required). Add chocolate chips of your choice.

Mix again. The dough will be a bit sticky. Transfer it to a plastic bag and refrigerate for 30 to 40 minutes to firm up.

After chilling, form balls of dough about 1.5 ounces (45 grams) each and place them on a baking sheet. Preheat your oven and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 14-15 minutes, depending on how golden you like them.
