Apple Crumble

Now here is a recipe that is probably not the best after working out, but Kingsley was cruising through the milk aisle, and looked at some custard, turned around and asked if we should buy some apple crumble. With all the cooking and baking, my pantry is overflowing with ingredients that I can use at any time - so we grabbed the low fat custard off the shelf (to not completely ruin the work out session) and walked out the store
The funny thing about this recipe is when I was around 15 I read an apple crumble recipe on a Nestle Sweet Condensed Milk. For the year following I made Nestle's apple crumble over and over and over again. I never took pictures of it - but every time I made a huge bowl of it, the adults swallowed it up. I even invented an apple crumble cake, which if I remember correctly was carefully stacked apple crumbled in a deep bowl and topped with whip cream, which sometimes was mixed with food color LOL ... Talk about calories :) We bought soooooo many apples back in the day
Now lets get to the recipe which probably is a million calories less than the Nestle version

Steps
- 1
After you have peeled and sliced your apples, cook it in a saucepan in some water and sugar
- 2
Bring to a boil, and let it simmer and cook until the fruit is nice and tender
- 3
This should take 10-15 mins
- 4
While the apples are cooking, mix the flour and sugar in a bowl
- 5
Add some butter and almost rub the butter in the flour until it becomes crumb like - it should resemble crumbs
- 6
Once the apples are cooked, transfer it into a pie dish
- 7
Sprinkle the crumbs over this
- 8
Bake in a preheated oven for 40-45mins until the crumble is golden brown
- 9
Serve hot with some vanilla icecream, whip or like we did custard :)
