An easy and simple way to make delicious kunafa. I hope you give it a try.

First, melt the butter and stir in 1 teaspoon of food coloring.

Crumble the kunafa pastry with your fingertips, then add the melted butter, powdered sugar, cardamom, and rose water. Mix well.

Grease a baking pan and press half of the kunafa mixture into the bottom, pressing with your fingertips to set it in place.

In a saucepan over low heat, mix the milk, sugar, and cornstarch until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in the cream and cream cheese.

Pour the filling over the kunafa layer, making sure to keep the filling in the center and away from the edges.

Add the remaining kunafa on top to cover the filling, and gently press it down.

Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes, top and bottom, until golden. Remove from the oven, pour the simple syrup over the top, and garnish with pistachios. Enjoy!
