Medium bowl, stir flour, baking powder, baking soda, & salt

Large bowl beat shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla & lemon extract

Alternating flour, & buttermilk, shortening. Cover & chill for 4 hrs

Preheat oven 375, small bowl combine the 1/2 cup sugar & cinnamon. Lightly grease cookie sheet set aside: each cookie use a 1/4 cup or 1/4 ice cream scoop. Roll each scoop of dough in the sugar cinnamon mixture 2 coat. Place 3 in apart on cookie sheet. with the palm of ur hand, gently press cookie 1/2 inch thickness.

Bake for 12-14 mins or until bottoms are golden. Transfer to wire racks; cool. The cookies bake more evenly if you bake one batch @ a time. Makes 24
