Pasta is another ingredient that helps you make a little meat go a long way. I do make my own pasta but always have a little trouble with spaghetti - tagliateli is as close as I get before it all goes horribly wrong! But spaghetti is the one pasta that is cheap to buy :-)

Ingredients

  1. 1 tbspolive oil, extra virgin
  2. 2 cupchopped bacon
  3. 1 largeonion sliced
  4. 2 cupcheese - grated
  5. 2 tspdried or fresh parsley
  6. 2 tspBlasta spices
  7. Pasta - spaghetti or fusilli or another pasta enough for 4 people could stretch to a couple more with extra pasta
  8. Blasta Spices:
  9. 3 tspSea salt - coarsely ground
  10. 2 tspdark soft brown sugar
  11. 1 tbsproasted garlic granules (or 2 teaspoon garlic powder)
  12. 1 tbspdried chilli flakes
  13. 2 tsppaprika (powder)
  14. 1 tspcoarse ground black pepper
  15. 1/2 tspyellow mustard powder or 2 teaspoons of yellow mustard seeds (crushed)
  16. 2 tspcoriander leaves finely chopped

Cooking Instructions

    Mix all of the blasta ingredients together and keep in a small jar with a lid on

  2. 2

    Bring to boil a large pan of water and cook the pasta as directions whilst the onions and bacon cook. Drain once cooked.

    Assemble your ingredients

    Heat a large saute pan and add the oil

  5. 5

    Soften the onions over a low heat, stir often

  6. 6

    Add the bacon and stir until thoroughly cooked through

  7. 7

    Once cooked, turn the heat up and allow the bacon & onions to just catch and go a little brown around the edges

  8. 8

    Turn heat back down and add the parsley and blasta spices and stir in. Make sure they are evenly distributed

  9. 9

    Add the cooked pasta and grated cheese and fully combine whilst still over a low heat.
