Cream the sugar and butter until light in colour and texture

Add egg and the lemon zest

Gently fold in the flour and and almonds,mix well until suitable for pipping,if too sift add a little beaten egg

Pipe on a lightly greased and floured baking sheet.

Use a medium sized star tube

Bake at a moderate oven at 190°c for about 10 min

Serve with spiced tea
