Kalmai Vadas are crispy and delicious and can be made semi fried and store in deep freezer for 15 days and fry when your guest come to your house.
Steps

Combine the chana dal and ¼ cup of water in a mixer and blend to a coarse mixture.Transfer the mixture into a bowl, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into round, flat vada. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai and deep-fry, a few vadas at a time on a medium flame fry the vada until they are golden brown.

Take them out over paper towel and let them cool of to the room temperature, now cut vadas into four pieces.Fry them again over medium high heat till they are golden brown. Take them out over paper towel.

Kalmi vadas are ready to serve with green chutney.
