Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5.

Cream together the butter and the sugar using a wooden spoon until its light and fluffy.

Break the eggs and whisk with a fork.

Add the egg to the creamed mixture gradually.

Sift the flour into the mixture.

Add in vanilla essence and the chocolate chips.

Mix well together.

Divide the mixture equally into the paper cases.

Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve... (you could also use coloured icing to decorate as desired)
