Break two of the eggs into a mixing bowl. Add milk, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix well

Using a glass or circle cutter, cut a 2 inch hole in each slice of bread. Set the bread centers aside.

For each slice of bread, (1) melt 1 tbsp of button in a frying pan over medium heat, (2) coat bread slice in egg/milk mixture, (3) place in pan in butter, and crack 1 egg into the hole. (4) Fry bread and egg until egg is mostly solid, then turn over and complete the cooking on the other side.

After you have cooked the 4 bread and egg combos, butter each bread center, and toast the bread centers in the frying pan. If there is any egg/milk mixture left, you can scramble it as a side. Alternatively, you can coat the bread centers in the egg/milk mixture, and fry them.

Serve each bread and egg combo with it's toasted center on a plate. Provide syrup if desired. Sausage or bacon make great sides as well.
