Combine brown sugar, milk, butter, and salt in saucepan.

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Boil gently, stirring, 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, rolled oats, cocoa, and coconut.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on waxed paper and cool.

Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
