Ingredients

4 servings
  • 3/4 cupall purpose flour
  • 3/4 cupcornstarch
  • 1vegetable oil
  • 1 lbtrimmed green beans
  • 1 1/2 cupseltzer
  • 1salt to taste

Steps

  1. 1

    Whisk together cornstarch, flour and seltzer.

  2. 2

    Put the green beans in the batter.

  3. 3

    Working in batches, deep fry in 375° oil until crisp and golden, about 3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Transfer to a paper towel lined plate and sprinkle with salt.

  5. 5

    *I serve this with avocado mayo which is also posted in my profile.*

  6. 6

    *Other deep fried veggies can also be used in this tempura batter.*

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
