This ice cream doesn't need an ice cream maker, which is good for me. Very creamy & thick.
Steps

Place the vanilla beans in a blender. Pulse until the beans are grounded. Remove & set aside. Clean the blender & dry.

In a large saucepan, scald the whole milk. Remove from the heat & let cool. Pour the milk into the blender & add the sugar, salt, & light cream. Blend until very smooth.

Pour into a large bowl & add the vanilla extract & heavy cream. Stir lightly. Add the ground vanilla beans. Mix well.

Refrigerate the ice cream mixture for 1 hour. Then pack & freeze.
