In a pan, stir 1/4 cup of sugar over low heat until sugar is melted and turn golden. Pour into a mould and keep aside.

In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, milk, vanilla and remaining sugar until combined. Pour over the caramelized sugar.

Place the mould in a square baking dish. Pour boiling water in the dish to a depth of 1".Bake at 180'c for 40-45 min or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

To unmould, run a knife around the edges of the mould and invert onto a serving dish.

Serve warm or chilled.
