I Had No Idea Apples and Puff Pastry Could Do This! 🍎

This dessert is incredibly simple, but the result is so good! Thinly sliced apples are baked with honey, butter, sugar and cinnamon under a layer of golden puff pastry. Then comes the best part — you flip them over to reveal beautifully caramelized apples with a buttery, honey-kissed sauce and crisp pastry.

Steps
- 1
Cut the apples in half and slice them very thinly, about 2 mm thick.
- 2
Cut the puff pastry into 6 squares and roll each one out slightly.
- 3
Mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
- 4
Line a baking tray with parchment paper or use a baking mat. This is important because the honey and butter will caramelize during baking.
- 5
Place 6 small portions of honey on the tray, using slightly less than 1 tablespoon for each. Place a piece of butter on top of each portion of honey.
- 6
Arrange 3 apple slices on top of each one and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- 7
Cover each stack with a square of puff pastry. Gently press the pastry around the edges.
- 8
Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
- 9
Bake at 200°C (390°F) for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.
- 10
Remove from the oven and carefully flip each one over. The caramelized apples will now be on top.
Serve while warm, when the pastry is still crisp and the apples are beautifully caramelized.
