Daal khichdi | Masala Khichdi

Soak rice and daal them together for 1/2 hr
In a cooker take some oil, add 1finely chopped onion and fry thill it turns translucent, then add 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste fry till the rawness has gone which is around 20-30 seconds. Add 1 chopped tomato, 1tbsp red chili powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp of coriander powder, add 1/4 cup water and fry till oil oil separates. Add salt to taste and 4 glasses of water. - 2
When water starts boiling add rice and daal and give 3 whistles and keep on low flame for 10 mins. Open and add 1 glasses of water and mix well. In a kadhai take 2 tbsp of ghee add 1/4tsp rai, 1/4 tsp zeera, 8-10 kadi patta leaves and 2 green chillies chopped. Add the daal khichdi and mix well on high flame. Put off the gas when it boils completely. Garnish with coriander and green chili.
