Ingredients

  • 1 cupbroken wheat/dalia
  • 1 cupsugar
  • 1 tspelaichi/cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cupmixed chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cupghee
  • 21/2 cupshot water

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the ghee in a non stick kadhai and add dalia sauté on a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Or till it turns golden brown colour, while stirring continuously.

  3. 3

    Add hot water and mix well and cook on a high flame till the water starts boiling.

  4. 4

    Partly cover and cook on a medium heat for 15 minutes or till the broken wheat is almost done.

  5. 5

    When all most of the water has evaporated add the sugar and cardamom powder and mix well.

  6. 6

    Cook on a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes or till the ghee separates while stirrings continuously.

  7. 7

    Add nuts (almonds, cashwnut, pistachio, kishmish) and mix well.

  8. 8

    Switch off the flame. Now lapsi is ready to serve.
