Wash and chop gourd finely

Add oil into pan. Add dry red chilli,bay leaves,cardamom,cumin seeds,.Saute for 30 seconds. Add ginger. Saute for 15 seconds.Add mung dal,fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Add gourd. Add salt,sugar,turmeric. Cook using lid for 10 minutes in low flame.

Add slitted green chilli. Add cumin powder, 1 cup of water. Cook in low flame until water evaporate. Add garam masala powder,ghee and coriander leaves. Serve with hot steamed rice or roti.
