METHOD:*
- In a bowl, seive 6 cups of flour and 2 teaspoons of baking powder and set aside.
- In another bowl, break 12 eggs and also set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add 250g butter and 1 cup vegetable oil. Mix and add 2 cups of sugar - 2
Add 4 egg yolks to the mixture followed by the 12 whole eggs. Mix until incorporated.
- Add the buttermilk and mix. Then add the flour little at a time so as to avoid lumps. Mix well until smooth.
- Grease the baking pan, and add the cake batter to the baking pan. Level the top and bake in a preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
- After 40 minutes, dip a toothpick into the cake, and when the toothpick comes out clear without any cake batter on it, then the cake is ready. Level the cake - 3
And set aside to cool while you mix the caramel.
- In a pot, add half simas butter, 1 cup of sugar and 4 tins of evaporated milk.
- Reduce the heat and stir for about an hour. Allow it to become thick and brown then remove from the heat.
- Divide the cake batter into two. Add half of the caramel by using a spatula, spread it and add the remaining half cake and cover the whole cake with the caramel.
