The shahi tukra is a bread pudding dessert recipe made with fried bread slices which are soaked in hot milk and spices like cardamom, sugar, and saffron. This delicacy is a Hyderabadi cuisine eaten all over the Indian subcontinent, popularly in areas with Muslim populations and is served at different blissful occasions like Eid ul fitr, weddings, parties and social gatherings. In India it is referred to as “the double ka meetha” but in Pakistan, it is simply known as the shahi tukra. On festive occasions like Eid and the Holy month of Ramadan, this creamy dessert is prepared and eaten with great delight. After the cooking process, it is garnished with khoya, nuts and dried fruits etc. This is my ghar Ka metha recipe. Made by me ( Rabbia choudhary)

  3. 1/2 cupSugar
  4. 10 gmAlmond
  5. 10 gmCashew
  6. 10 gmPistachio
  7. 5 gmGreen Cardamom
  8. 1/4 tspYellow Color
  9. 1 tspVanilla Essence
  10. 1 cupHot Water
  11. 3 tbspCorn Flour
  12. as neededCooking Oil
  13. 8Bread Slices

Steps

  1. 1

    Method:

    1. In a cooking pot, add milk, cardamoms, sugar, yellow food color, almond, pistachio, cashew, vanilla essence, hot water and cook for 15-20 minutes on low flame.
    2. Afterward, add corn flour mixed in water. The mixture is ready now.
    3. In a cooking pan, add cooking oil, bread slices and fry it until light brown.
    4. Now cut slices in the middle of the bread.
    5. Present these slices into the mixture.
    6. Your tasty Shahi Tukray is ready to serve.
