Ingredients

  1. 1 kgleg of lamb, cut in cubes
  2. 2 onions, chopped
  3. 2 large tomatoes, peeled and diced
  4. 1 kgpotatoes, peeled and cut into 4 pieces
  5. 2 tablespoonsvegetable oil
  6. 1 clovegarlic, crushed
  7. 2 tablespoonstomato paste
  8. baharat mix
  9. salt to taste
  10. 1 pita bread, deep-fried cut into pieces
  11. parsley for garnish
  12. pickles for serving

  1. 1

    In a deep pot, fry onions in the vegetable oil on medium heat, until they are golden.

  2. 2

    Raise heat, add meat and stir.

  3. 3

    When meat browns, add the baharat mix, garlic and salt.

  4. 4

    Add potatoes, tomatoes and tomato paste. Cover, and simmer on medium-low heat for 2 hours.

  5. 5

    To serve, place the fried bread in a serving dish and top with meat and potato stew, then sprinkle with the chopped parsley.
