Boiled Sweet Berries / Jujubes /Indian plums/ Ber

#midnight
Boiled Ber remind me of school days when after school me and my friends used to buy these from the vendors sitting outside the school compound, these sweet and sour fruit gave a very different kind of thrill while having it. Whenever I get these dry red Berries in market, I enjoy this dish by making it at home. My kids also like to have these boiled berries.
Whenever my hunger pangs are active midnight, I like to have something tangy and spicy. So I cooked these super simple and yummy Ber last night for me and my daughter while enjoying 'Dr Strange'

Steps
- 1
I got these from local market where I leave. These are completely dried red Indian berries or plums.
- 2
Wash and clean them well. Also discard the ones with whole in it, as they may have gone baad.
- 3
Add 1&1/2 cups of water, chilli powder, powdered jaggery and some sugar and cook in a pressure cooker till 5 whistles
- 4
Once done they will look black in colour, the skin will become very tender and the inside will be juicy and sweet. Boil for some time without lid and mix well.
- 5
Cool and serve to your family. Sprinkle chat masala if you like.
