Boil the maize and beans till soft, this may take time depending on the source of heat you are using

Drain all the water from the mixture and set aside

In another saucepan, heat the oil and add the chopped onions and garlic

After they have been browned, add the mixture of the maize and beans plus salt according to your preference and simmer for about five minutes

Can be served with beef stew or just with tea, black especially
