    cooking oil • garlic (sliced or chopped finely) • mushroom (I used Buna Shimeji here, you can also use fresh Shiitake or Maitake mushroom). The mushroom do not need to be washed • green vegetables (I used Chinese lettuce here, you can also use Xiao Bai Cai, Nai Bai, Cai Xin) • oyster sauce • light soy sauce • sesame oil
    • Long bean omelette

      eggs • white pepper powder • light soy sauce • small pinch of salt • cooking oil • garlic cloves (minced) • long beans (or French beans) ends trimmed and sliced very thinly
      • Sidecar: a French cocktail

        parts Cognac • part Cointreau • part fresh lemon juice (or 3/4 part of you prefer a slightly less tart cocktail)

        Guinness • unsalted butter • cocoa powder • sour cream • large egg • vanilla extract • plain flour • bicarbonate of soda • Some icing sugar or whipped cream for the topping

      • Croque Monsieur

        ready-sliced multigrain brown bread • Dijon mustard • gruyere cheese (I used Emmental) • ham • eggs • Some salt • milk • heap of grated gruyere cheese (I used cheddar) • good sprinkling of Worcestershire sauce
