- this is only my second experience with fondant. the first was store bought. this was easy to make and unlike the stores, is also tasty. it made enough to cover a double layer 8 inch cake plus decorations, and I still had left overs. I didn't have over night to wait but colored it while kneeding and let it sit only 2 hours before using it. had no real issues, i have no fondant tools and treat it basically like grownup ediable play dough. also I don't own a microwave so melted the marshmellows on the stove top on low heat, it took about 5 minutes to do so. - the potato flakes were a little too large to coat the chicken the way a traditional flour or corn meal mix would. next time, I may run them through the food processer first to get the finish I'm used to. but there will be a next time, it was very delicious, I did cheat though and added a splash or two of hot sauce to my eggs before coating to give my chicken a kick. but I always go this regardless of the coating being used. defiantly a recipe worth keeping.
