  1. Pie Base
  2. 250 gram/ 2.5 cupall purpose flour
  3. 225 gramSalted butter cold
  4. 1 tablespoonCaster sugar
  5. 1/2 cup Ice cold water
  6. Pie filling
  7. 250 gramdeseeded dates or khajoor
  8. 3.5 tablespoonbrown sugar
  9. 2/3 cupmilk
  10. 2 tablespooncorn flour
  11. 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  12. 1 small cup walnuts (cut into small pieces)

    Mix butter and caster sugar well in the all purpose flour. Mix them with the help of fingers.

    Now add one tablespoon cold water and knead it well,likevise add water with the help of spoon gradually.(total 5 tbsp cold water)

    Now collect this dough in a foil paper with gentle hands and keep it in the fridge for half an hour

    Now in the meanwhile prepare filling of the pie. Heat up the pan and add one tablespoon butter in it.

    Add 3 tablespoon milk in the corn flour and dissolve it well.

    Add brown sugar and dates in the butter and roast it well.

    Now add milk,dissolved corn flour, Cardamom powder and Walnuts and mix well.

    Switch off the flame and add one or two drop of lemon juice so that it should not crystallized.

    Now remove the dough from the fridge and take a pie tin.

    Spread a plastic sheet on the platform dust it with flour and with the help of Rolling pin roll up the pie.

    Very carefully fill it in tin and prick it properly from all sides.

    Preheat the oven with 180 degree Celsius and place it in the oven and bake it for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Let it cool and remove it from the tin,fill the date and Walnut mixture and decorate with walnuts.
