Soft & Steaming Yam Steaks

cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp
I got the idea from a TV show.
Since you can eat these yams while they're still raw, you can leave them a bit crunchy. These also taste great if cooked in butter. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Peel the yam and cut into 1.5 cm slices. Season with salt and pepper.
- 2
Heat oil in a frying pan and pan-fry the yams until browned on both sides. Lower the heat to low and add in the sake. Cover with a lid and steam for 5 minutes.
- 3
Once a skewer can be inserted through them easily, drizzle in the soy sauce in a circular motion.
- 4
Serve up and garnish with bonito flakes.

Sweet, Spicy, Rich Tofu Steaks
I was working on recipes that used our family favorite Sweet and Spicy Sauce. At first I tried it without mayonnaise, and it was 'just ok', not worth writing up as a recipe. But once I added mayonnaise it became a dish I was proud of, so I uploaded it here.-Use a thick, durable kitchen paper towel that holds up to heat well for Step 2.-Katakuriko absorbs a lot of oil, so if there isn't enough oil add some more.-This is delicious as a donburi rice bowl topping. Tuna and Nagaimo Yam Diced Steak
I created this recipe because I wanted to make something different using tuna and yamaimo yam.Lotus root is optional, but if you are using it, fry it until it becomes crispy. That adds a nice accent to the dish. If you decide not to use it, fry the garlic in Step 3 instead. Please don't cook the tuna too long. Cook it briefly until browned, and serve on a plate right away. The sauce will thicken in a short time, so please be careful not to burn it. Recipe by Shinsan

Beek Steak Softened with Yogurt
I saw on TV that lean beef is good for muscle building and burning fat, and there happened to be a lot of beef steak piled up on sale, so I tried making this.It doesn't have the softness of marbled beef, but it's got a good texture and flavor.Since you'll be cooking the onions in the yogurt and the meat's juices there's no need for preseasoning.I say this softens tough beef, but since it starts out as tough you're still not going to get that marbled beef softness. Quick and Easy Simmered Hamburger Steaks
The recipes I saw on Cookpad for simmered hamburgers didn't have sugar, so they were all a bit too sour for me...I wanted to have something a little sweeter for kids, so I tried it this way. These basic hamburgers are delicious and great for locomoco rice bowls. It's hard to cook potatoes or carrots all the way through this way, so first heat in the microwave, then simmer.Simmering the hamburgers will ensure they're not under-cooked, but they will be soft and juicy. Tender Well-Done Beef Steak
I based this recipe on Okuen-sensei's Oil Marinade Chicken recipe. I just replaced the chicken breast with beef. I did have some breast meat but it was quite dried out and I just wondered if beef would taste similar. If I eat well-done steak in a restaurant it's hard to chew and I thought cheap meat would also end up that way but somehow I made it tender. If you use a meat that contains no oil such as Aussie beef, the beef will completely suck up an oil-based marinade and the dashi stock with it in about half a day. By dusting with flour, it provides the meat with a thin film that locks the juices and moisture within the meat. Recipe by toshiebaba

Surprisingly Fluffy Easy Carrot and Tofu Steaks
I added carrots, which were sitting in the fridge, to tofu steaks. If you don't add panko bread crumbs, the mixture is very soft and difficult to form into balls, but you'll end up with fluffy patties. If it's hard to handle, add a small amount of panko bread crumbs. Recipe by amalfiexblog

Extremely Juicy! Light and Tender Hamburger Steaks
Whenever I made hamburgers, they always ended up tough. So I studied various recipes, and made these after a lot of experimenting.Adjust the amount of milk added, and knead the meat well until it it's sticky. The burgers will toughen if you cook them for too long, so turn the heat down midway through. They will plump up even more if you add 50 ml of water when cooking. Reduce the sauce down a bit in the pan. Recipe by A.Honotan

Easy Hamburger Steaks

Soy Bean Hamburger Steaks
I wanted something made with soy beans that would satisfy my boyfriend! You don't have to be exact about the seasonings. It will be all right if you can shape them easily. I like soy beans anyway and crush them very roughly. Adjust the amount of the sauce ingredients to taste. Recipe by Kimu keko

Beef Steak with Lots of Veggies
When I was a student, my friend's mother told me that cooking the meat this way would make it tender. I'm not sure if this is true or false, but nevertheless, that's how I've cooked beef since then.Serving this steak with fancy sauce sounds great too, but it's also amazing with "Super Versatile Garlic Soy Sauce". If you don't have "Basil Butter", you can also use regular butter. Recipe by chima@

Juicy Hamburger Steaks
I took tips from various recipes as reference, and came up with my own version![Tip 1] Knead the meat in 2 batches, kneading it the first time until the meat becomes fluffy.[Tip 2] Make sure to thoroughly remove trapped air pockets when molding the patties (or else they will break apart when cooking).[Tip 3] Pour boiling water into the pan to prevent the temperature of the pan from dropping. For 2 servings (3 hamburgers). Recipe by Annakarenina

Japanese style tofu steak
For my second tofu arranged recipe, I wanted to make a main dish and I came up with this recipe! This time I'm using an Okinawan-style tofu. It's healthier than regular steak and probably easier to cook than you think! You can also adjust seasoning of the sauce depending on how you would like this tofu steak to taste.
