your recipe is very interesting. Im in Thailand and I'm not really sure we have cui mei here. What does CuiMei tastes like? salty & sour ? or sweet and sour? it's not the kind we put in streamed fish right?

CuiMei are made by pickling fresh plums. They have a sweet-and-sour flavor, a crunchy texture, and juicy flesh with a sweet-and-sour taste. I simply used the CuiMei I already had in the refrigerator to steam with the meat. As you said, the plums used for steaming fish can also be used to steam meat.
