Dates Pickled in Orange Juice

I saw a recipe in a dessert cookbook from overseas which used dates pickled in orange juice, so I bought some orange juice and tried to make it. Dates pickled in brandy or rum are often used in pound cakes, but dates pickled in orange juice are unusual, so I wrote up the recipe.
The dates will dissolve if you leave them to soak for too long, so only leave them for a day or two. I recommend you only make the amount you want to eat! Recipe by Uchidenokozuchi
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Put the dates in an empty bottle, and add enough orange juice to cover them. Leave them for around half a day.
- 2
You can eat them on their own, or with ice cream or yoghurt. They make a nice snack if you wrap them in spring roll wrappers and quickly bake them in the oven.

Easy Sweet Potatoes Stewed in Orange Juice Easy Sweet Potatoes Stewed in Orange Juice
My father-in-law grows a lot of sweet potatoes.I generally stew them with the lemons that my father-in-law also grows, but I came up with this recipe after stewing them with some marmalade I had received. These are great as side dishes or little items to pack in lunches.I also recommend trying them as imo amanatto (candied sweet potatoes).Be careful not to overcook the sweet potatoes. You can also substitute marmalade for the orange juice. These also be transformed into imo amanatto, (candied sweet potatoes) by drying them and coating them in granulated sugar.Adjust the sweetness to taste. Orange Juice Agar Jello Orange Juice Agar Jello
I like the texture of thickened agar better than gelatin. This recipe is based off many testings. If agar isn't boiled, it won't harden so make sure to boil it!If for some reason it doesn't harden when chilled, transfer it back to the pot and boil again. If you boil gelatin, it is harder to thicken, so when using gelatin, follow Step 9. California Farm Beet Juice Cured Salmon California Farm Beet Juice Cured Salmon
A medieval farm recipe. When salt was still expensive in the middle ages, people cured salmon under rocks, with beet juice and spices, none or little salt. Kims Cooking uses that recipe marinade by adding gin and orange juice to the beet juice in her fridge instead of salt to cure the fish.Looks delicious! I tried it and it tastes amazing! Merci pour un autre plaisir de Kim! Hobby Horseman
