Well I’m conscious of the high cost of food at present so I’m trying to be more frugal by using cheaper produce and making recipes up from ingredients I have.

Me too. Then again, I’m old enough to have had a childhood when we never knew which was the greater limitation: poverty or rationing! Fortunately, that’s a very long time ago and life has been good to me but I’ve never forgotten how my mum struggled to feed us. We do enjoy the occasional Michelin star meal but never forget the reality of life for many. End of homily! John
