Can you please explain step 4 "the jars will seal themselves ". Sorry for my confusion.

@WarsawNan liquids bubble up as it ferments. After you clean them and the bubbling slows down the salty brine dehydrates and seals tight. It actually becomes resistant to opening/removing bowl that seals the top . Therefore sealing itself.
