Gulab jamun French toast

Jodene Paananen @Jodene13
OMG! Who'da think? Gulab jamun French toast. I ate my first gulab jamun in 1972 when I was 9 (I also tried lamb samosa, vegetable samosa, spinach pakoras, beef curry, the most wonderful chutney made of coconut, cilantro, onion, garlic, jalapenos). Never have I had that type of chutney before. That lady and her daughter cooked everything fresh, no frozen samosa like everyone served now. My mom and I are there at least once a week, and through these interactions, the lady taught me how to prepare Indian food (even taught me to make jelabis!) Her restaurant is long gone, but her culinary heritage lives on iny own kitchen to this day.
I digress. I'm going to make these next week while I'm camping in the middle of nowhere. I'll check back and tell you how they turned out.
