In a mixing bowl, take ¾ cup of suji, ½ cup of curd and mix them nicely. To this, add ¾ cup of water and mix again to form a smooth semi-thick batter. Cover with a lid and let it set for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, remove the lid and stir the batter. Now, add 3 to 4 tablespoons of chopped onions, 2 tablespoons of chopped tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of chopped carrot, 1 to 2 chopped green chillies.

Next, add turmeric powder, salt to taste and a generous pinch of baking soda. Mix everything well.

Now, heat a flat and plain iron cast pan on medium flame. add 3 to 4 drops of oil and spread it using a paper towel or a tissue. Pour a spoon of batter onto the hot pan and spread it.

Then, add some oil all around the edges and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip over the suji cheela to its other side and cook for another 2 minutes.

Once both the sides are cooked well, place it on a plate. Serve the suji cheela with green chutney or ketchup.
