Measure all the ingredients you will use.

Place the eggs in a bowl and beat until thick and ribbon-like. At the same time, start making the caramel in a pan. Once done, refrigerate the egg mixture to keep it from deflating.

For the cake, melt the chocolate with the butter using a double boiler.

Once the eggs and chocolate are ready, gently fold them together. Then add the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and baking soda).

Pour the caramel into the bottom of your baking pan, then add the cake batter and the flan mixture on top.

Bake in a water bath for 35 minutes at 350°F (180°C). To check if it's done, insert the tip of a knife; it should come out clean.
