Fish Katsu Don

‘Katsu Don’ is a very popular Japanese rice bowl dish, and ‘Tonkatsu’ (Pork Cutlet) is often used. This is a Fish version. Crumbed Fried Fish OR Battered Fried Fish are both suitable. If you have some leftovers, try this delicious rice bowl for a quick & easy meal.

Place Dashi Stock (OR Stock of your choice), Soy Sauce, Mirin and Sugar in a small frying pan or small saucepan. Scatter Onion, cover with a lid, and bring to the simmer over medium low heat.

When Onion is soft, arrange Fried Fish pieces, scatter Spring Onion, pour whisked Egg evenly, cover with the lid, and cook until Egg is softly cooked.

Half fill a bowl with warm cooked Rice, cover with the mixture, and enjoy.
