The bottom part is thicker skin, so slice off the skin.

Steps

Find locally grown fresh, in season asparagus!!

Rub with coase salt and rolling it to make the bunches a bit softer

Take skin off of the thickest part, as it could be quite stiff
- 4
Slice it one by one. It takes time and effort a bit, but it is worth the effort. Trust me!

Mix with olive oil, salt and pepper to your taste.
The subtle sweetness of asparagus should not be compromised by other tastes
