Steps

Wash and soak chana dal for 1 hour in water. Wash, peel off the bottle gourd and chopped in small pieces.

Take a cooker container, put chopped bottle gourd, chopped tomatoes, and soaked chana dal. Put in a pressure cooker, cook it till 3 whistles.

Take a Kadai, add oil, mustard seeds, hing, and dry red chili. Saute it, add steamed dal, tomatoes, and bottle gourd. Add water as required for a curry.

Now add salt, jaggery, kokam, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Mix well. Cook for 5 minutes on slow flame, so all curry thickens and absorb all masalas. Lastly add coriander leaves. Ready to serve. Enjoy with roti, paratha or rice.
