Beautiful looking Milk Tea using Mango Ginger. Yes! You've heard it right. Mango Ginger is a typical variety of Rhizome. It's neither related to Mango nor Ginger but it's Turmeric. It's called as Aam Haldi in Hindi and Mamidi Allam in Telugu. It is a Rhizome which is pale Yellow inside and lighter on the outside. And when crushed, it gives out a sweet smell similar to that of a Mango, hence the name is given as such. The flavour is that of Ginger predominantly but it is not as sharp as the common Ginger. It has a faint taste of Mango.
It is therefore largely used in Salads, Stir frys, delicious Chutneys etc.
It is often used in Colds and Coughs, in bloating issues, Colic pains, Anorexia, Fungal infections etc in Ayurveda.
This Tea is also equally awesome. Helps keep cold at bay. Having it once in a while during the Winters help a lot. Do not make it a habit without consulting a doctor before trying any Herbal medicine.
It is easily available in the local markets and always choose fresh and a fleshy one.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
